Questions about AllArts

Updated November 6, 2026

AllArts is an AI art identifier and museum audio guide for iPhone. I made it, and these are the questions people ask me most.

What app tells you about a painting?

AllArts. Point your iPhone's camera at a painting, a sculpture or a building and it tells you what it is, who made it, when and why, and what details to look for. You can read the story or listen to it narrated, then ask follow-up questions about that work.

How do I identify a painting from a photo?

Open AllArts, tap the camera and point it at the painting, or pick a photo you already took from your library. In a few seconds you get the title, the artist, the date, the museum it belongs to and its story. You can shoot several works in a row: each one is recognised while you keep looking.

Is there an audio guide for the Louvre?

AllArts works as an audio guide in the Louvre and in any other museum: scan a work and listen to its story. On the Museums tab you can open the Louvre, or a museum near you, to see its key works and which of them you have already found. AllArts is an independent app, not an official guide of any museum.

Does it work in my language?

Stories, narration and answers come in more than 60 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. The app's own menus are in English and Russian.

Is it free?

Yes, AllArts is free to start, with 5 scans a day and no account needed. AllArts Pro removes the limit. In the US it costs $7.99 a week, $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year, and the yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial. Prices in other countries are set by the App Store and shown before you buy.

What kinds of stories can I get?

Five styles: Short, Detailed, For a child, With humour and For an art historian. You pick a default and can switch for any single work.

Does it work with sculptures and buildings?

Yes. AllArts recognises paintings, sculptures, monuments, churches and other buildings, and files every find in your art passport with city and country stamps.

Does it work without internet?

Recognition needs a connection. Shots you take offline wait in the queue and are recognised as soon as you are back online. Stories you already have can be read without a connection.

What happens to my photos?

Before your first scan, the app asks whether you agree to send your photo and its approximate location to the AI service that recognises the work. I don't store your photos, and there are no ads and no tracking. The privacy policy has the details.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 26.5 or later. It is made for iPhone, where the camera is handiest in a museum. There is no Android version yet.

How do I get help?

Write to choizzyio@gmail.com. I read every message.
