AllArts

Privacy Policy

Effective November 6, 2026

I make AllArts: Museum Audio Guide ("AllArts", "the app"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. I keep it short and only collect what the app needs to work.

Your consent

Before your first scan or chat question, the app tells you what is sent to the AI service and to whom, and asks you to agree. If you choose "Not now", nothing is sent: scanning and chat stay off, and museums, your collection and Settings still work. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Photos and AI.

Photos you scan

When you scan an artwork or building, with the camera or from your photo library, the photo is sent to my server to recognise the object and write its story. Photos are used only to provide that result. I don't sell them, don't use them for advertising and don't share them with anyone except the processing services described below. The app only reads the photos you choose to scan.

Location

If you allow location access, the app uses your approximate position to place your discoveries on the map, describe them more precisely and show museums nearby. For this, coordinates are sent to my server together with a scan or a museum search. Location is optional: the app works without it, and you can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings.

Questions you ask

If you ask a follow-up question about an artwork, the question is sent to my server to generate the answer.

Processing services

To recognise objects and generate text and narrated audio, my server uses third-party AI providers. They receive only what is needed for the request and process it on my behalf:

I don't store your photos. Recognition results are kept on my server for 24 hours, without the photo or your location. The map is shown with the Google Maps SDK.

China App Store version

If you downloaded AllArts from the China App Store, OpenAI is not used. Instead, recognition and chat are processed by Anthropic (Claude), an AI service of Anthropic, PBC, United States:

This means your data is transferred outside China and processed in the United States and other countries where Anthropic operates. The app asks for your consent to this before the first scan or chat question. Anthropic doesn't use this data to train its models and deletes it within 30 days, unless it is flagged by its safety systems or must be kept by law. Which version you have is decided by your App Store country, not by where you are.

Analytics and crash reports

The app uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) and Amplitude to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. This data is tied to a random app ID, not to your name or email. It includes things like screens opened, actions taken, app version, device model, OS version and crash details.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store; I never see your payment details. RevenueCat is used to check whether your subscription is active, using the same random app ID and your App Store purchase information.

No tracking

AllArts does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not show ads.

Stored on your device

Your language, settings and history of scans are stored on your device. Deleting the app removes them.

Keeping and deleting data

I keep server-side data only as long as needed to provide the app and fix problems. To have your data deleted, or to ask what is stored, email choizzyio@gmail.com.

Children

AllArts is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date above.
